About Playhouse
Playhouse is a Community Nursery which opened in 1985, offering full day childcare to fifteen children from the local area. Since then, the nursery has expanded to offer 50 full-time places for children aged between three months and five years due to the increasing need for affordable childcare in the local community. Playhouse is a registered charity, and is a not for profit organisation. Playhouse is the designated childcare provider for Besson Street Children's Centre.
Playhouse is run by a Trustee and Management Committee which is made up of parents/carers and interested people from the local area. Our dedicated staff team consists of the Centre Manager, Nursery Manager, Deputy Nursery Manager, Office Manager, Room Leaders and Nursery Assistants. There is also a Cook/Domestic Supervisor and a Kitchen Assistant who provide a daily cooked meal using fresh produce (recently awarded the maximum 5 stars by the Food Standards Agency).
We currently have vacancies for immediate starters, including places for the free 15 hour Educational Grant for 3-4 year olds. We are also adding September starters to our waiting list.
